We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) (together with our Terms and Conditions) and any other documents referred to in it) sets out how we process the personal data of each visitor and customer (resident in the European Union) to the Site, where such personal data is provided to us through the Site or via email communication. WHAT IS PERSONAL DATA?

PURPOSES FOR WHICH WE PROCESS PERSONAL DATA

  • offering our services to you in a personalised way, for example, we may provide suggestions based on your previous requests to enable you to identify suitable products and services that we offer more quickly, for example energy, broadband and insurance products.   • to allow you to participate in interactive features of our services, when you choose to do so;
  • to enable Providers to carry out certain functions on your behalf, including locating your account with them, verification, technical, logistical or other functions, as may be required, in order to fulfil your requests;
  • resolving any disputes, if you lawfully exercise your rights or if you wish to dispute any part of our service offering;
  • sending you personalised marketing communications, where you have agreed that we may do so, in order to keep you informed of our products and services, as well as those of our selected partners’ and Providers’, which we (or they) consider may be of interest to you;

Once you have entered your details, by pressing the ‘Accept’ (or equivalent) button you are confirming that all the details you have entered are correct. We will send you a confirmation email that includes the details you have submitted, including the Service Provider you have told us your current service is with. At this point your personal details will be transmitted to the Service Provider you have told us you are currently with. The Service Provider will process your request, and may process your application as a request by you to join them as a new customer. You will receive notification of this from the Service Provider and be given your statutory right to cancel within the cooling-off period. If you do not cancel this order during the cooling-off period you will be solely responsible for any change in Service Provider that results.


DISCLOSURE OF CUSTOMER INFORMATION

There are circumstances where we wish to disclose or are compelled to disclose your Personal Data to third parties. This will only take place in accordance with the applicable law and for the purposes listed above. These scenarios include disclosure to:

  • selected Providers (including but not limited to Broadband, Home Phone and TV Providers, Mobile Phone and SIM only providers, Energy Suppliers, Car Breakdown Services Providers, Boiler, Plumbing and Home Cover Providers, Mortgage Brokers and Providers Insurance Services Providers, Comparison and Switch Platform Providers and other related third parties), to enable us to compare your price plan, obtain alternative quotes for you, or to provide you with other related services;
  • your existing Provider(s) if you request us to make your Personal Data available to them in order for them to contact you to discuss your account(s) and the product(s) concerned;
  • our selected Switching Partner(s) where you have requested us to provide comparative pricing services or offers either by phone or email contact, if you request to be contacted with such an offer;
  • our outsourced service providers or suppliers to facilitate the provision of our services to you, for example, the disclosure to our data centre provider for the safe keeping of your Personal Data, web hosting provider through which your Personal Data may be collected, identity verification partners in order to verify your identity or postal address against public databases;
  • subject to your consent, to our marketing partners, who may contact you by post, email, telephone, SMS or by other means.   • analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of the Site;

  • selected Providers in order to share the statistical and analytical information generated above, in an anonymised and aggregated format only;
  • third party service and security providers and consultants in order to protect the security or integrity of our business, including our databases and systems and for business continuity reasons;
  • another legal entity, on a temporary or permanent basis, for the purposes of a joint venture, collaboration, financing, sale, merger, reorganisation, change of legal form, dissolution or similar event. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA

RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Your Personal Data will be retained until your last use of our services and normally for a period of three years thereafter, unless longer retention is required by applicable local law or where we have a legitimate and lawful purpose to do so. However, we will not retain beyond this period any of your Personal Data that is no longer required for the purposes set out in this Policy. The retention of your Personal Data will be subject to an annual review and any changes notified to you.
