Our referral scheme is simple. You send your unique referral link or referral code to someone you know. If they complete a qualifying energy deal through ismybillfair and the deal is confirmed, you earn Giftpay credit that you can redeem against a wide range of popular gift card brands.
How the referral scheme works
Getting started is easy.
First, sign up for referrals through our referral page. We’ll generate your unique referral link and referral code for you.
You can then share your referral link with friends and family who may be looking for a fairer energy deal. If they use your link, or enter your referral code when accepting a new deal, the referral can be tracked against your account.
Once their energy deal has completed and been confirmed, your referral reward is added to your balance.
How much can I earn?
You can earn £10 per qualifying energy fuel.
That means:
- £10 for an electricity referral
- £10 for a gas referral
- £20 for a dual fuel referral
So if your referred friend takes both gas and electricity, you can earn up to £20 for that referral.
What counts as a qualifying referral?
For a referral to qualify:
- Your friend must use your referral link or enter your referral code when accepting their new deal
- They must complete a qualifying energy deal through ismybillfair
- The new deal must then be confirmed by the supplier
Not every referral will qualify. If a deal is cancelled, does not complete, cannot be validated, or is otherwise rejected by the supplier, the referral will not be paid.
What do referral statuses mean?
You can check your balance and referral progress at any time. Each referral will usually show one of the following statuses:
Pending - We’ve tracked the referral and we’re waiting for supplier confirmation.
Confirmed - The supplier has confirmed the new deal and the reward is now available in your balance.
Rejected - The referral did not qualify for a reward. This might happen if the deal was cancelled, did not complete, or could not be validated.
How do I redeem my reward?
Once your referral reward is confirmed and available in your balance, you can redeem it through Giftpay.
Giftpay lets you choose from a wide range of digital gift card brands, including many popular UK retailers. After you redeem, Giftpay sends your digital gift card directly to you.
There is no need to wait to build up a minimum balance. As soon as your reward is available, you can claim it.
What if someone forgets to use my link?
If your friend does not use your referral link, they can still enter your referral code when accepting their new energy deal.
That’s why it’s a good idea to share both your link and your referral code when referring someone, especially if you are sharing through channels like Facebook where links can sometimes be reformatted.
