Petrol companies have been blasted after Britain suffered the biggest price hikes at the pumps for 18 years last month.
1.3 million customers will see electricity prices rise, but gas prices remain unchanged from 7 June.
SSE has become the last of the "big six" energy companies to announce early summer price rises, with a 6.7% average increase in gas and electricity bills.
Gas and electricity supplier Npower is raising energy bills by an average of £64 a year for a million customers.
The rise will affect around one-third of Scottish Power customers - 960,000 in total.
